New BMW Vid and Pics

I revved it up to 2500 rpms twice, and then close to 6000 rpms after that.

So far, I really enjoy the car. Like any car, there are some things you have to get used to. I’m not keen on most of the interior plastic pieces. They are cheap, as are the door handles and the glove box, with it’s perpetual sag. Other than that, the car is amazing.

The Peanut Butter Solution

Jif Peanut Butter can bring your trim back to black. Waaaaahat?

It’s true. This:

Here’s what you do: you get some peanut butter, paper towels, and tape to mask off your car. You rub peanut butter on a paper towel and rub it on your trim. Use the tape on the body of the car so peanut butter won’t get on it, and get the top of the trim as well. Then use the clean part of the paper towel to rub most of the peanut butter off the car. Use a towel to get the remainder of it off the trim. Repeat until you are done. Here are some photos of the results. Sadly, I didn’t take “before” picture, but I took photos of the car with part of it not finished.

This is a photo of the trim wrapping around the back of the car before I Jifed it:

This is a photo of the same pre-Jif trim piece, with a post-Jif piece on the right of the tire:

It’s kind of hard to tell from the photos, but it makes a huge difference. It took about an hour to do both trim pieces. Now I have to do the front and the back and it’ll be done. It works in a Jiffy! Sorry…

My new BMW M3

Here are some photos of my ’97 BMW M3. I’ll officially own it tomorrow, once the stupid credit union finishes the paperwork.

I like this last photo because it shows my old car, my ’89 Volkswagen Jetta. I had it since I was a senior in high school, and will miss it in a weird way. The car has been good to me. And although it lacked things like power, style, and chick appeal, it made up for it in irregular reliability and self depricating personality. I’m really excited to be getting a real car, and will probably be featuring more car posts in the near future.
